Members

 

Members of the Commission is appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the advice of the Prime Minister. The appointment is not more than 7 Commissioners, consisting of a Chairman, a Deputy Chairman and five Commissioners. Membership is for a term not exceeding three years and each member cannot hold the post for more than two consecutive periods in accordance with section 7(1) of Act 700.

Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah has consented on the appointment of seven (7) Commissioners for the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) for a period of three (3) years as follows:

X YBhg. Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Haji Hassan

YBhg. is the Chairman of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC), a position he assumed effective 1 July 2020 upon his appointment by Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Previously, he was the Chairman of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), the national oil and gas corporation of Malaysia, a position he assumed in July 2012 up to June 2018.

Prior to joining PETRONAS, Tan Sri Sidek served in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of the Malaysian Civil Service for over 38 years, the last six as the Chief Secretary to the Government until he turned 61 on 24 June 2012.

Tan Sri Sidek began his career on 15 April 1974 as an Assistant Director at the International Trade Division, Ministry of Trade and Industry. He has extensive working experience within the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) including postings at MITI offices in Tokyo (Japan), Sydney (Australia) and Washington, D.C. (USA). He was appointed as Deputy Secretary-General (Trade) on 19 January 2001 and as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry on 24 October 2004.

Tan Sri Sidek served as President of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) between 2008 and 2013, and as Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) between 2012 and 2018.

He was the Chairman of KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC REIT Management Sdn Bhd and the former Chairman of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd. Tan Sri Sidek was also appointed as the Chairman of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) between 2016 and 2018. He was also a board member of Top Glove Corporation Berhad and Malayan Flour Mills Berhad.

Tan Sri Sidek holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Degree in Public Administration from University of Malaya and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from New Hampshire College, United States of America. In 2001, he completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP).

He also holds Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR), Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) and Honorary Doctorate Degree in International Business from IIUM.

Tan Sri Sidek was conferred The Distinguished Service Order by the Government of Singapore in June 2012 for his contributions to fostering closer ties and co-operation between the Public Services of Malaysia and Singapore.

In May 2018, the Government of Japan conferred Tan Sri Sidek the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star for his contributions in strengthening the economic relations between Japan and Malaysia.

X YBhg. Tan Sri. Datuk Zainun Ali

YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) of University of Malaya and Masters of Laws of University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali held various positions in legal and judicial service throughout her career since 1976. Before her appoinment to the Malaysian Bench, she was appointed as the Registrar of Companies (1990) and the Chief Registrar of the Federal Court (1994). She was appointed as the Judicial Commissioner of the High Court (1996) and elevated as the Judge of the Court of Appeal in 2007. In 2012, she served as the Judge of the Federal Court and contributed to Malaysian jurisprudence in several landmark judgments.

YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali is the member of Advisory Board of the United Nations Global Judiciary Integrity Network. She is among the ten members of the judicial fraternity worldwide appointed to the international network based on their active engagements in creating an impact towards judicial integrity.

After retiring from civil service, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali was appointed as the Chairman of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad until August 2020. She is also the Director of Permodalan Nasional Berhad effective 1 January 2019.

YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 July 2020.

X YBhg. Dato’ John Louis O’Hara

YBhg. Dato' John Louis O’Hara holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) of King’s College University of London (1974) and Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln’s Inn London (1976).

YBhg. Dato’ John Louis O'Hara has an extensive experience in legal and judicial throughout his career from 1976. He started as the Magistrate of Kuala Lumpur Court (1976-1977), the Deputy Public Prosecutor (state and federal)(1977-1982), the Senior Federal Counsel, the Advisory and International Division Attorney General's Chambers (1982-1988), the Legal Advisor of Ministry of Defence (1988-1992) and the Senior Judge of Kota Bharu Sessions Court (1992-1994).

YBhg. Dato’ John Louis O’Hara served as the Legal Advisor of Ministry Foreign Affairs (1994-1999), the Deputy Head of Civil Division of Attorney General's Chambers (1999), the Chairman of the Industrial Court of Kuala Lumpur, (2000-2001), the Chairman Advisory Board of Prime Minister's Department, (2002-2003), the Head of International Affairs Division Attorney General's Chambers (2003-2005), and the Judicial Commissioner of Pulau Pinang High Court (2005-2007).

YBhg. Dato’ John Louis O’Hara continued to serve as the Judge of High Court of Pulau Pinang (2007-2010) and the Judge of High Court of Kuala Lumpur (from 2011 until retirement in 2017).

YBhg. Dato’ John Louis O’Hara was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 July 2020.

X YBrs. Professor. Dr. Nik Ahmad Kamal bin Nik Mahmod

YBrs. Prof. Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod holds a Bachelor of Laws of University of Malaya (1986), Master of Laws of King's College, and Doctor of Philosophy Degree, University of Aberdeen, Scotland (1995).

He began his career in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) as an academic staff in 1986 and appointed as a lecturer in 2005. He has held various positions as academic administrator at IIUM particularly related to student affairs such as the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Member of the Disciplinary Committee (Students and Staff), Chairman of the Student Affairs Committee, as well as other position, for instance, the Chairman of the Technical Committee on Good Governance (GGTC) (CMI). He was the Dean of Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws and had held the position of Deputy Rector for Student Affairs.

At the national level, YBrs. Prof Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod was the Chairman for Standard Programme in Law and Shariah under the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). He is also external reviewer for Faculty of Law and Shariah for UniSZA and USIM.

YBrs. Prof. Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod was then appointed as the Legal Advisor of IIUM from 2012 until 2016. He was also the Member of the Hospital Management Protem Committee of IIUM, the Strategic Planning Team of IIUM, Member of the Board of Staff Academic Selection Committee of IIUM and Member of the Academic Integrity Committee of IIUM. He is also a Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO).

YBrs. Prof. Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 July 2020.

X Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Aziah Ali

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Aziah Ali holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) of University of Malaya (1976).

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Aziah Ali began her legal and judicial profession since 1976 in Ministry of Defense, Attorney General's Chambers (1978) and Public Service Department (1988). She was then appointed as the Senior Judge of Sessions Court in the state of Negeri Sembilan (1992), the Registrar of High Court of Malaya (1994) and as the State Legal Advisor of Negeri Sembilan (2001) before appointed as the Director General of Judicial and Legal Training Institute (ILKAP) in the same year.

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Aziah Ali continued to serve as the Judge of Kuala Lumpur High Court (2007), the Judge of Court of Appeal (2011) and the Judge of Federal Court (2016).

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Aziah Ali was appointed as the Member of SIDREC Appeals Committee (the Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Center) of Securities Commission Malaysia on 1 September 2020.

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Wira Aziah Ali was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 November 2020.

X Tan Sri Mahmood Adam

YBhg. Tan Sri Mahmood Adam holds a Bachelor (Honours) Degree of University of Malaya (1976) and Diploma in Public Administration of National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) (1980).

YBhg. Tan Sri Mahmood Adam began his career as the Administrative and Diplomatic Civil Service Officer in Immigration Department of Malaysia (1976), followed by the other federal agencies such as Ministry of Defense (1981), Public Service Department (1986), Prime Minister's Department (1992) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996). YBhg. Tan Sri Mahmood Adam served as the Chief Government Security Officer in Chief Government Security Office (CGSO), of Prime Minister's Department in 2003 and appointed as the Secretary of Dewan Rakyat, Parliament of Malaysia in 2006.

YBhg. Tan Sri Mahmood Adam continued to serve as the Deputy Secretary General (Administration) in Ministry of Defense (2007), the Director General of Immigration Department of Malaysia (2008) and the Secretary General of Ministry of Home Affairs (2009). He was then appointed as the Chairman of Public Services Commission of Malaysia and the Chairman of Judicial and Legal Service Commission from 2012 to 2015.

YBhg. Tan Sri Mahmood Adam was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 November 2020.

X Dato’ Alizatul Khair Osman

YBhg. Dato’ Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) of University of Malaya (1976) and Master of Laws of London School of Economics, University of London, United Kingdom (1982).

YBhg. Dato’ Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin has an extensive experience in law and judiciary since 1976. Started as the Legal Advisor of Ministry of Education in 1984, YBhg. Dato' Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin served Attorney General's Chambers in 1995 as the Deputy Head of Legal Division and Legal Advisor of the state of Pulau Pinang in the same year.

YBhg. Dato’ Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin continued to serve as the Judicial Commissioner of Shah Alam High Court (2003), Judge of High Court of Shah Alam (2004), Judge of High Court of Kuala Lumpur (2008) and Judge of the Court of Appeal (2011) until appointed as Judge of the Federal Court from 2017 until 2019.

YBhg. Dato’ Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin was appointed by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Commissioner of Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission effective 1 November 2020.
