PUTRAJAYA: An agent who offered the Sultan of Johor RM2 million in exchange for ‘Tan Sri’ titles has until midnight to give himself up to the authorities.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Azam Baki said the man, who has already been identified, is believed to be in hiding.

“We have blocked KLIA lest he tries to flee the country.

"If he refuses to surrender, we will arrest him and get his name and picture published in the media," he said.

As for his identity, the only clue Azam provided was this: "He is a bald Chinese man with Malaysian citizenship".

Last week, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Ismail revealed that he was approached by an individual who offered him RM2 million to propose candidates, to the Chief Secretary to the Government, for 'Tan Sri' titles, to be bestowed by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.

On Monday, the MACC had an audience with the Sultan pertaining to the matter.
