KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi has directed the Road Transport Department to improve its enforcement and monitor highways at night especially on weekends. "There are some unscrupulous people who use the road as racing tracks especially on weekend. Hopefully with the presence of enforcement officers, it would reduce this immoral activity," he said at a press conference after a visit to the victim's house in Taman Batu Muda, Batu caves. Aziz also said he has directed the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety (Miros) to assist police investigation in the fatal Duke Highway accident which claimed three lives. "Miros would be tasked with analysing footage recorded by closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras placed along the expressway while police would carry out technical investigations," he added. On Saturday, a couple and their 7-month-old baby were killed in a tragic accident involving three vehicles at KM6.2 of the Duke Highway at 1.05am. Resource : New Straits Times
