Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC or the ‘Commission’ herein) is a Federal Statutory Body established through the Act of Parliament under section 3 of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission Act 2009 [Act 700], which was gazetted on 3 September 2009 and became effective on 1 April 2011.
The Act 700 replaces the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission Bill 2005. The establishment of EAIC is in line with the Government's target to instil and improve integrity among law enforcement officers and enforcement agencies in order to strengthen the public's confidence in them.
