KLANG: The gamblers were so engrossed in their dice game that the arrival of policemen went unnoticed.
The men were seated at a big round table with numbers written on four paper sheets. They were trying to roll the numbers that were not on the sheets.
Most of the gamblers were businessmen and several posh cars were parked near the premises.
A team of officers from the Selangor Anti-Vice, Gaming and Secret Societies Division (D7) raided the gambling den at the upper floor of a shoplot in Taman Palm Grove here.
Division (D7) chief ASP Sobri Baki, who led the operation codenamed Ops Dadu, said his team, comprising two officers and 15 personnel, raided the place at about 4pm on Friday after spending some time on surveillance.
The premises is equipped with closed-circuit television camera and automatic door system.
“However, we managed to gain entry without being noticed. They were so engrossed on gambling,†he said when met at the scene here.
Fifteen men aged between 30 and 65 were arrested. A total of RM61,000 in cash was seized together with a cash cheque for RM10,000, 576 gambling chips of various colours and value, and six dice, among others.
