MARANG: Misconduct among officers and personnel in the Royal Malaysian Police is still under control. Bukit Aman's Integrity and Standard Compliance director Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said only 187 of its 125,000 workforce were investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency. He said in the four years since 2013, only one per cent of the workforce of more than 100,000 were involved in minor offences including disobeying orders and violating department rules. "From the inspection we carried out on more than 12,000 personnel, only 1,200 in a period of four years had committed minor offences such as carelessness, coming late for work and failing to follow assignment rules. "Similarly with corruption cases..there were not many and very few, nationwide," he said after a Terengganu PDRM programme. He said those involved were called and asked to attend various programmes with counsellors and psychologists.
