SEREMBAN: A Sepang-based National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) assistant officer has been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations into two corruption cases.

The first case in April last year involves a sum of RM5,160 and the second in March this year, involves a sum of RM1,000.

The remand order was issued by magistrate Rahimah Rahim at the special remand court here, following the application by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecuting officer Mohd Khairi Abdul Karim.

The 34-year-old woman, who is also the Sepang AADK Prevention Unit head, had earlier given her statement at the Negeri Sembilan MACC office before being detained yesterday.

The MACC arrested her based on a report that she had influenced her boss, the Sepang AADK chief, to appoint her elder brother’s company to provide supplies and services for an AADK programme in April last year. The contract was worth RM5,160.

She is also alleged to have influenced her boss to appoint her younger sibling’s company in March this year to provide supplies for an AADK programme, “Family On Alert – Prevention Begins From Home”, for RM1,000.

The case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
