PETALING JAYA: Anti - crime watchdog activist R. Sri Sanj eevan claims he is still waiting for word on the incident that put him in a coma for more than a month last year. “I was shot and was in a coma for 35 days. I almost died. “Each time I asked about the case, the police would say it is under investigation and they cannot reveal details about the progress in the case,” he said yesterday. Sri Sanjeevan said that if a case involved someone important, like a minister, the case would have been investigated swiftly. On Sunday, the Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch) chairman reportedly received three 9mm live bullets in the mailbox at his family home in Kampung Taman Jaya, Bahau. On July 27 last year, he was shot by a motorcycle pillion rider near Jempol. He alleged that he was shot following his exposure of a drug syndicate purportedly operated by high ranking Negri Sembilan police officers. Sri Sanjeevan added that the bullets that arrived in his mailbox were of the same make as the ones that had been used to shoot him last July. He also alleged that Johor police officers had more than a million ringgit in their bank accounts and should be investigated for graft. A Bukit Aman spokesman rubbished Sri Sanjeevan’s claims and reiterated that his case was still being investigated. “We advise Sri Sanjeevan to cease comparing his case to that of others. He has to admit that each case is unique. “He has the constitutional right to say whatever he wants, but he has to do so responsibly and within the confines of t he law. “We will take appropriate actions once the investigation has been concluded,” she said. The spokesman urged Sri Sanjee-van to come forward should he have proof that Johor police officers had more than a million ringgit in their bank accounts. “I t is his moral obligation to report such matters and to do it unconditionally,” she said.
